Dear Friend of the Animals,

Thanks to support from friends like you, the Pilar & Chuck Bahde Wildlife Center can take in more than 100 injured, orphaned or sick wild animals in a single day!

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at a day inside the center where we’re nursing orphaned squirrels, giving medical care to a wounded crow, helping a juvenile barn owl prepare for life in the wild and so much more.

Each of these animals is receiving a second chance because of you. Thank you for helping to save wild lives!

Did you know?

San Diego Humane Society’s humane law enforcement team doesn’t just help companion animals — they’re out in the field making a difference for wildlife, too! As the set-up for Comic-Con was being torn down on Monday, San Diego Convention Center security noticed an opossum stuck on a 50-foot fence! They called for help, and our Sgt. Austin Seuferer showed up to be the stressed-out opossum’s superhero. Assisted by the staff at the convention center, Sgt. Seuferer used a “scissor lift” to safely capture the opossum. He then relocated the animal to a nearby area where it was nice and quiet, and released him back into the wild!
